aka Cutdowns

Ever seen an old school wedding video on VHS?
…a home video shakily filmed by a relative during a birthday party?

Still there’s something to be said about the good ol’ days!

Highlight reels capture the wow-factor but what about those simple moments?

While editing, we see it all…
you can too!

Analog editing was cumbersome! Plenty of time spent rewinding, pausing, taking notes, etc.

Today, Non-Linear Editing software makes sifting a whole day of footage manageable, enabling creative & stunning results.

“Is there any way to get the raw footage? I should have thought about this before, but I didn't realize how much of a blur the whole day would be... haha! I would be willing to pay a little extra for that, if necessary.” - June 2021 Bride

Lohri @ Inverness - January 2023

The following video was cut down further from their original ‘home video’. Full toasts, special dances, etc were included.

This shortened version of their home video was edited for another client interested in seeing raw footage of our team at an event similar to theirs.

This event booked our single camera Home Video package and was filmed intentionally to capture long form raw clips.

They later booked a highlight reel to be edited from the content captured. Slow motion clips weren’t feasible as we filmed at a lower frame rate with real-time playback in mind.

Autumn @ Spruce Mountain Ranch

Their home video was part of their cinematic package. Many shots were filmed with the intention of producing a highlight reel and not long form re-watchable clips.

August, 2021 in Breckenridge

We often edit a lot more than we need while producing our Cinematic Highlight Reels. Still, we only include our favorite clips that fit the story we’re telling.

This wedding had a handful of behind the scenes with our team - DJ + Drums, Guitarist / videographer, and Photo Booth - so we applied extra editing to the dance floor for our own promo (some clips excluded since no guests were in those shots).

There are some MultiCam dancefloor moments since we had one camera running to capture our DJ whenever he played drums. A lot more dancefloor footage is in this video than in their highlight!

Over an hour and half with multicams included (ceremony, toasts, special dances were part of their original booking)

June 2022 in Boulder

Some key moments included:

  • Funny banter during prep

  • First looks

  • Marriage License signing

  • Group photos

  • Dancefloor

  • Additional rough multicams (cake cutting, bouquet, and more).

We’ll be uploading a redacted version of their home video soon, respecting a few private moments in the original cut.

2 versions of this 4k semi-raw video were sent to the client:
